About This Product

■Summary

When cutting worm gears, the K-shaped (3-shaped) tooth profile is generally machined with a milling cutter (or grindstone), but the worms used for small worms and electrodes are cut with a cutting tool. As a machining method, if you attach the cutting tool parallel to the axial direction and cut, the axial tooth profile of the worm will be a straight line. However, when the advance angle becomes large, the rake angle on one edge becomes negative, and the clearance angle on the opposite side must be large, making cutting difficult. In such cases, the cutting tool should be attached perpendicular to the thread surface for cutting. When cutting a worm with the bite installed perpendicular to the teeth (N-type worm), the worm axial tooth profile after cutting will not be a straight line, but Worm Bite2 is designed so that the worm axial tooth profile after cutting is a straight line. This is software that generates the shape of the bite.
