About This Product

A distinctive feature of bolts is that they are generally used under tension (applying tension), whereas set screws are used under pressure. Set screws must be held securely against three forces: torsional, axial, and vibration. The compression created by tightening the set screw creates a strong clamping force that resists relative movement between the assembled parts. Holding force and installation torque are proportional, so the stronger you tighten, the higher the compression force will be. However, there is a limit to how strongly a typical set screw can be tightened. Failure to tighten carefully may result in socket cracking, reaming, or thread stripping. So I'm not sure if I've tightened the set screw enough to secure it. However, it is also possible to confirm that the umbraco set screw is secure. This is because if you use an umbraco wrench, you can tighten the wrench until it twists. Furthermore, we recommend a maximum tightening torque of up to 40% higher for Umbraco set screws than for other set screws. It provides users with extra retention and reliability. Umbraco setscrews are stronger than other setscrews, so they hold better. The dimensional uniformity and exceptional strength of Umbraco set screws ensure consistent higher tightening torques than other set screws. As a result, you can reduce the number or size of set screws required in your assembly, resulting in cost savings.
