When ozone is used for sterilization, deodorization, cleaning, reformation, etc., it is difficult to exhaust ozone gas. If you exhaust the air as is, the ducts, fans, etc. will corrode and be dangerous. If you exhaust the air outdoors, it will diffuse, but the area near the exhaust port is not safe because the ozone gas is highly concentrated. At factories, acid exhaust is treated using drafters and scrubbers, but outside of factories, it is common to remove it using ozone filters, etc.
Conventional ozone filter decomposers require a large capacity that is costly and space-consuming in order to process high-concentration ozone gas in a short time. To use an ozone filter in a small ozone utilization device, the common method is to place the ozone filter inside the device and circulate the ozone gas until it is diluted.
Based on our abundant technology and experience cultivated in semiconductor manufacturing equipment, etc., we have a small size ozone filter with high performance, so we can reduce the exhaust ozone gas concentration to 0.1ppm or less, which allows exhaust treatment in one pass without circulating the ozone gas inside the equipment. We have developed and are selling an ozone decomposition unit with a built-in exhaust fan. The advantage of this method is that there is no need for circulation processing, so the process time for the entire device is shortened.
Additionally, since the ozone decomposition filter is outside the device, there is no possibility of re-contamination inside the device due to components such as activated carbon and heavy metal catalysts used in the ozone filter. The one-pass ozone abatement unit has an ultra-clean design concept.
■Installation example
Excimer UV cleaning reformer is directly exhausted indoors through ozone decomposition equipment. However, the installation environment must be in a ventilated room. Be sure to exhaust the air outside in spaces where ventilation is difficult, such as clean rooms. The actual replacement life of the ozone catalyst is approximately 3 years when operated daily.
