■Summary
CAE Black Pearl Ceramic Coated Anilox is a special powder material for which CAE has acquired exclusive patent rights.By automatically processing it in synchronization with ceramic processing, it looks like a black pearl. This is a groundbreaking coating technology that not only provides smooth, high hardness, but also reduces the occurrence of microscopic pores, which would be unavoidable with ceramics alone, to an almost negligible level.
CAE has been developing this BP coating technology for the practical application of the eCell type design proposed by ALE for about 10 years, and has since conducted over 2,000 field tests and actual adoption results. As a result of our efforts, we can now confidently make the following promises to printing sites that are aiming for higher-level flexographic printing.
■Five things that CAE promises with eCell type anilox
(1) Enables higher-definition graphic printing compared to honeycomb 60° cells
(2) Possible to reduce ink consumption by more than 20%
(3) Dramatically improved cleaning efficiency, initial anilox specifications can be stored for a long time

■Higher definition graphic printing is possible compared to honeycomb 60° cells.
In the case of the honeycomb 60° cell, the maximum ink volume possible at 800lpi was approximately 3BCM, but with eCell, the same capacity can be obtained at 1,100lpi, and the same printing plate can be used as before, so the dot gain decreases.
■It is possible to reduce ink usage by more than 20%
This is due to the synergistic effect of the vertically expanded cells and the smooth cell inner surface of the BP coating, which improves ink fluidity and minimizes wasteful residual ink. This point is substantiated by numerous field test reports provided by our users.
