About This Product
■Protective device
This is a microprocessor type device that quickly and accurately detects failures in power system transmission lines and distribution lines, and quickly isolates faulty sections from healthy systems.
This device is a power transmission line protection device that consists of a line selection relay unit (S unit), which is the main protection for dual-line transmission lines in a resistance grounding system, and a distance relay unit (DZ unit), which is a back-up protection. Depending on the system, configurations with only one DZ unit line are also possible.
■Line selection relay unit overview (S unit function overview)
When a fault occurs in one of the two parallel lines, the line selection relay unit performs selective protection using only the information on its own terminals due to the cross current, which is the difference between the currents of 1L and 2L. For 60 to 70% of the section, high-speed shutoff is possible at both ends (own end, opposite end) at the same time. It also has a countermeasure function for systems where zero-phase circulating current exists in power transmission lines.
In addition, if the power transmission line is expanded in the future and has three or more terminals, the S unit can be replaced with a PCM unit (current differential relay unit).
■Distance relay unit overview (DZ1L, DZ2L unit function overview)
The distance relay unit selects the fault element and fault section by combining the directional element and reactance element of each phase, and protects the own section and other sections at stage limit. It also has an on-site failure protection function (optional function), which enables bus bar protection on the power receiving end side. Additionally, it has a disconnection detection element (46 relays: optional function) for the instrument transformer (CT).
■About equipment operation and maintenance
The equipment is operated and maintained using a computer HI (human interface). There are local HIs used within substations and remote HIs that are remotely monitored from the power center.Controls and setting values cannot be changed with remote HIs. In addition, even if you do not have a PC HI, the unit has a simple HI display section that allows you to check the current setting values, device abnormalities, etc.
