■Check the fermentation temperature of compost by the color of the label
- A set of 3 sticker labels (thermo labels) that change color due to temperature rise and a special container.
- Once the temperature indicator of the thermo label changes color, it will not return to its original color, so the maximum temperature can be detected reliably.
■How to use
・Remove one label from the bag, place it in a container, and close the lid tightly. Caution: Do not label the container.
・Once livestock manure has been piled up and composting has started, insert the entire container into the center of the compost heap and take it out when turning over.
・Check the color change temperature of the label. Ideally, the temperature should be 65°C or higher, which kills pathogenic bacteria and weed seeds.
■Principle
During the composting process, temperatures above 65°C can be confirmed, which kills pathogenic bacteria and weed seeds. For this reason, the discoloration of the label at 65℃ is an indicator of the quality of the compost.
