■Summary
Most of Ziehl-Abegg's outer rotor motors are equipped with a thermostatic switch "TB" as standard. Motor protection switches or bimetallic trip devices in the motor supply line provide incomplete protection because they operate based on current or temperature. Fans can be reliably protected with Zeel-Abegg motor protection devices. This is especially true, for example, when speed-controlled by voltage or when operating at high switching frequencies. Additionally, it prevents automatic restart after cooling in case of an error. It is also possible to protect multiple motors with one protection device.

Most Ziehl-Abegg outer rotor motors are equipped with a thermostatic breaker (TB). The explosion-proof outer rotor motor has a built-in temperature probe (TP). IEC standard motors also have a built-in temperature sensor (TP)/PTC thermistor. To protect and monitor these motors, Ziehl-Abegg offers products suitable for analyzing the signals from thermostat switches and temperature sensors.

- Thermostatic Breaker (TB) A monitoring 3-phase motor protection device with built-in, in addition to complete thermal protection of the motor, also has the ability to distribute current to the fan in a simple way. It allows multiple fans to be connected to a 3-phase motor protection device and also includes cutout protection (safety feature) with a built-in overcurrent trigger.
- 1-phase motor protection device monitors each connected motor (TP thermostat switch). Monitoring devices for temperature probes (TP) can also protect explosion-proof motors.
