■Characteristics of Moru Taro

There are broadly three types of molecular structure models. (1) wire model, (2) ball and stick model, (3) space-filling model. Among these, Mol Taro is the ball and stick model of (2). This model is often used in textbooks because it shows the connections between atoms and also expresses the size of the atoms to a certain extent. Conventionally, this type of model can be broadly divided into two types depending on the purpose. (a) Precise models for experts and researchers (b) Relatively simple model for learning Until now, there has been no model that satisfies both uses. Mol Taro is a model developed by researching factors that allow for both precision and ease of assembly. The result is a model that can be used for both research and learning purposes. ・Moru Taro is a model that combines precision and simplicity. ・For Mol Taro, simply choose from three types of rods depending on the type of bond. ・Mor-Taro calculates the radius of the atomic sphere by classifying it by element taking into account the valence state. ・Mol-Tallow has relational expressions with covalent radius, van der Waals radius, ionic radius, etc.

■How atoms bond together

The actual model is a sphere of atoms. Connect the hands with sleeves. A recess is provided inside the sleeve. It is designed to fit with the protrusion on your hand and make it difficult to slip out.

■Hand and sleeve shapes for single, double and triple bonds

The cross-sections of the sleeves have different shapes that reflect the different bonding conditions. This prevents you from accidentally connecting hands with different bonding states. The cross section of the single bond is circular and has a structure that allows for internal rotation. Furthermore, the concave part of the single-bond sleeve is notched to make it easier to determine the conformation. Double and triple bonds cannot be rotated due to the nature of their bonds, but although their cross-sectional shapes are also different, they are structured so that they cannot be rotated.

■Color-coding of atomic spheres and sleeves

Different types of atoms and sleeves are distinguished at a glance and are color-coded to avoid confusion. Conventional products also have some color coding, but there is no one that clearly distinguishes all types by color. In addition to distinguishing and preventing mistakes, the color-coding also gives the completed molecular model a new aesthetic appearance.
