■Summary
EBU (Emulsion Breaker) Separates 80% of the water contained in emulsions. JOWA emulsion breakers are designed to break up the water contained in emulsions. This equipment separates 80% of the water contained in the emulsion. We further process the discharge liquid from oil-water separators approved by IMO MEPC 107 (49) (International Maritime Organization Marine Environment Protection Committee) to achieve a level of 5ppm or less.
The emulsion from which water has been separated in the separator is discharged to a sludge tank.
■Function
The device can be operated automatically or manually and alarms are displayed on the LCD display. The working principle is processing by agglomeration.
1. When the system starts operating, oil and water from the oil-water separator are released into the tank of this device, and the tank is filled with the emulsion liquid that was not removed by the oil-water separator. A chemical substance that breaks down the emulsion is added to it and mixes with the emulsion liquid, at which time the pH value is adjusted.
2. Chemicals break down the emulsion while it settles in the tank. The liquid in the tank is thereby divided into three layers.
3. Start draining the liquid in the tank. The liquid layer at the bottom is discharged to a sludge tank, and the liquid layer in which the emulsion has been decomposed is discharged to an oil-water separator. The top liquid layer, in which the broken emulsion floats, remains in the tank. Operations such as discharging are controlled by sensors inside the tank.
