■Purpose of plug valve PR

With existing cocks made of stainless steel, the sealing surface has been in contact with metal, so it is unavoidable that galling, which is typical of friction between similar metals, will occur. It would be a good idea to create a gap (clearance) between the main body and the plug, but this can lead to fluid leakage and other problems. For this reason, plug valves are designed based on the Teflon sheet of ball valves and take advantage of the advantages of existing cocks.

■Summary explanation

Like existing cocks, it has an oval hole in the conical plug, and by rotating the handle 90 degrees, the fluid flow can be fully opened or closed. A taper sleeve Teflon is attached between the cock body and the plug, and the entire seat is a Teflon sheet instead of sheet metal, so the taper sleeve Teflon and the plug come into surface contact.

■Advantages of plug valves

If the fluid has foreign substances stuck to it, such as chemicals, viscous substances, solid substances, etc., the OPEN CLOSE will remove the remaining substances and stuck substances, and will also give very good results in preventing fluid leakage. Unlike existing cocks, the gland structure has been upgraded to ensure better leakage to the outside. Same as existing cocks, there is no dead space inside the valve body, so there is no phenomenon like a ball valve where fluid gets into the pocket inside the body and cannot open or close due to accumulation, allowing smooth fluid control and opening/closing. . The lack of dead space is an advantage compared to other valves depending on the fluid. Even in cases where the airtightness has deteriorated slightly due to abrasion of the tapered sleeve Teflon due to fluid, the plug is tapered like existing cocks, so it can be adjusted using the adjuster bolt held down from above to increase sealing pressure. The valve body has a simple structure with few parts, has a top entry type, and has low fluid resistance, making it suitable for flow rate adjustment. Therefore, low-pressure, relatively high-viscosity fluids are suitable. It is convenient for handling slurry fluids, and even if slurry adheres to it, it can be removed each time it is opened and closed.
