The most important thing when using a temperature controller is setting the P, I, and D values. The temperature controller has an auto-tuning function to determine this. However, in many cases, I think that the recommended values P=40, I=25, and D=1 will give better results than these, but autotuning may also find relatively reasonable values. However, there are many cases where it is difficult to say that the operation of both types is the best, and in that case, fine adjustments are made using manual settings.
For safe driving, set the P value to around 40 and adjust the response speed with the I value. If overshoot occurs, increase the I value. If that doesn't work, increase both the P value and I value. If you want a faster response speed, reduce the I value or P value, but this will cause overshoot, so be careful. Overshooting will damage the heater and shorten its life. Momentary disconnection is also possible.
When performing auto-tuning, please set the air amount to the value shown in the upper right corner or higher. If auto-tuning is performed with a flow rate lower than this, the hot air temperature will reach over 1,000℃ during this operation and may burn out instantly.
The most effective way to prevent overshoot and protect the heater is to limit the output. With this temperature controller, if you enter the % value that limits it to "oh-1", it will not output more than that. The heater will not burn out unless you apply more power than necessary.
If you enter the above value into the OH-1 of the temperature controller, there is almost no risk of burning out the heater instantly. However, this only applies if the air is flowing as specified. To speed up the rise time, increase the above value slightly. However, if you increase the size, the risk of damaging the heater and breaking the wire increases.
If you don't need to start up the heater particularly quickly, the heater will last longer if you start it up slowly. You may also need to be careful when cooling. When used with a large flow of air, if the power is turned off while the air is flowing, rapid thermal contraction will occur in various parts, putting stress on the insulators and heating elements, shortening the lifespan and causing trouble due to cracks and metal fatigue. It will be.
