The B790 can simultaneously measure the small amounts of α and β rays emitted by radionuclides, distinguishing between them. Up to 10 sample bowls can be measured simultaneously, and information about the measurement samples can be easily entered in advance into the associated PC software for post-measurement evaluation. The measuring bowls (Ø60 mm) are arranged in two rows of 5 on the slide, and 10 flow proportional counters are located directly above the measuring bowls. It is covered with a large surface flow meter that acts as a common shield for the counter and is switched out of line with the meter to exclude cosmic rays.
