TQ-type moisture-permeable waterproof fabric tape for clothing with an innovative composition developed for three-layer waterproof fabric. “TQ-type hot melt adhesives have come as close as possible to the level that has been our ultimate goal for three-layer waterproof fabrics since we first developed hot melt adhesive sealing tapes in 1965. It is an adhesive with a unique composition. ■Three-layer waterproof fabric tape using TQ-type adhesive has the following characteristics. ・It is relatively easy to obtain sufficient waterproofness with a smaller amount of adhesive than before (enough to fill the voids in the lining layer). This results in a thin and flexible finish on the adhesive area. It also facilitates quality control at the production site. ・It can be applied to both types of three-layer waterproof fabric, including microporous hydrophobic type membranes and nonporous hydrophilic type membranes. ・However, the only weakness of TQ-type hot melt adhesive is the presence of high temperature water of 70℃ or higher. Therefore, it is necessary to avoid washing at high temperatures of 70℃ or higher. ・Also, the TQ-type sealing tape has a waterproof function and is not intended to shield gases such as air. Generally applicable to three-layer waterproof fabrics that use 15d-20d tricot as the backing material.
