The standard shielded absolute linear encoder LK24 has the function of converting the absolute value of the operating (displacement) position of important parts of the machine body into an electrical signal. The encoder has a glass scale fixed in a rigid housing, and the measuring head is mounted in the housing with a ball bearing guide. The encoder is protected by two lip seals in order to operate in harsh environments such as chips and cutting coolant. Clean air can also be supplied into the encoder housing for added protection. There are two types of absolute output signals: serial code SSI or Biss C. Two 90 degree offset analog sign symbols 1Vpp are also available as an option.
