You can use a board that has already been designed or a ready-made board available on the market as long as it is equipped with a JTag port. You can transfer data directly from the microSDCard to the configuration RAM and start it up, or update data to the configuration ROM. The new inSystem mode allows you to run the ROM several times faster than updating the ROM using a JTAG cable. 59JTagStick02 currently supports three transfer modes, and you need to choose from two types depending on the supported transfer mode. ■Raw bit mode Transfer Intel's RBF file and XILINX's BIT and BIN files from the microSDCard to the configuration RAM via the JTAG port and start the FPGA. Writing to ROM is not possible. ■SVF mode It supports SVF files. (Conversion to GVF file is required) Writing to SPI and BPIROM is also possible. Compatible with FPGAs that cannot be supported in raw bit mode. Since it emulates JTAG cable operation, the processing speed is equivalent to that of JTAG cable. ■inSystem mode - Starts up after transferring the logic that controls ROM writing to the configuration RAM, establishes a link with 59JTagStick02, and updates the ROM while reading data on the SDCard. - It is also possible to save transfer time by making inSystem logic resident. Update processing is performed using the set ERASE+PROGRAM+VERIFY. - Notifies the address of the error location when a VERIFY error occurs. (Displayed by continuous long and short flashing of LED) - Compatible with POF, HEX, and MCS files. - The time required for updating can be reduced to less than half compared to JTAG cable. -On-site repairs can be completed by simply inserting it into the JTAG port. - It is possible to update the ROM connected to INTEL's PFL. ・It is possible to write and update an alternative ROM (ex.MT25Q) for the ROM that is disabled and not updated in XILINX ISE iMPACT. - ROM update logic needs to be designed for each board.
