■Technical Like other Cube series and related systems, the Cube L1 calculates the energy of the laser pulse by measuring the temperature rise of the absorber. Power is calculated by measuring the duration of the laser pulse. This linear and precise physical fact makes this measurement method ideal for measuring laser power even in the smallest amounts of energy. The Cube L1's biggest features are its optical front end and wide output range. Particularly for service activities, this power meter is a versatile tool as it can measure power from a few hundred watts up to 16kW. Based on a proven calorimetry system, it always achieves the specified accuracy and reproducibility. At the same time, the optical front end makes it possible to measure power densities up to 250 kW/cm². Ideal for demanding power measurements in limited space. ■About the system Cube L1 is a compact power meter that allows reliable power measurements in limited space. Especially in industrial environments, where things usually need to move quickly, this can be difficult in the field of high-power cutting or welding applications. Laser power can easily exceed 10kW. Although the maximum measurable power density is usually relatively low, the space in which such machines are installed is not sufficient to expand the beam for reliable measurements. Cube L1 has a unique optical front end, which enables high-speed measurements with power densities up to 250kW/cm². This means close to the focal plane. Combined with a proven calorimetry system, you get a versatile system for servicing high-power lasers up to 16kW. ■Advantages The challenges of high-power laser measurements in industrial environments are always time and available space, and with the PRIMES Cube L1 you have a service tool that easily overcomes these issues. The passively cooled measurement device can measure laser powers up to 16kW close to the focal plane without the need for cooling water. Measurements are therefore very fast and at the same time very accurate and easy.
