■Overview of inspection management system KenPin STARTER This is a field improvement trial system that uses barcodes and handheld terminals to manage inspections. By creating a simple system that carefully selects only the commonly necessary functions for any industry or inspection work, we have lowered the hurdles to implementation to the bare minimum. In addition, it is extensible, allowing you to freely add functions, so it can be customized to suit your site. ■Operation method Imports schedule information from the host system* and issues a schedule list (barcode). The issued barcode information is read with a handy terminal and inspection processing (receiving/shipping) is performed. By transferring the read data to a computer, the actual numbers can be added and schedule information can be erased, making it possible to manage inspection schedule information. *We also support core systems such as SAP, WMS (warehouse management system), and MES (manufacturing execution system). ■Design points Even the latest technology and expensive hardware are putting the cart before the horse if they are difficult for people in the field to use. Therefore, our iSTARTER series is particular about ``designing from the user's perspective.'' For example, the system screen has an Excel-based appearance and operability, which is a familiar tool for many people. It is also designed to be intuitive to use, even for those who are new to handheld terminals. In particular, with regard to the operation of handheld terminals at shipping sites where troubles such as incorrect shipments are likely to occur, human error can be avoided by notifying the user with an easy-to-understand error screen or buzzer sound when a product number barcode that differs from the scheduled data is read. We provide prevention support. ■Features of KenPin STARTER We help prevent mistakes in receiving and shipping inspections that can be started immediately by importing scheduled data. In addition, we can customize inspections according to the expected quantity of cases, balls, and loose items, as well as issuing labels for the actual items. It can also be used to prevent mistakes in ``work that involves mixing raw materials'' such as in the food and pharmaceutical industries. Supports efficient and accurate picking work. It is also possible to customize the system to suit the picking method at the site, such as total picking or order picking.
