A pin converting extruder has the features of a pin extruder with dozens of pins protruding from the cylinder toward the center of the screw, but it also has a converting zone added to the cylinder. The conversion zone has a throttle section, and the radially protruding pins placed around the entire circumference can be adjusted in and out manually or hydraulically. This allows the cross-sectional area of the liner groove to be varied.
