A rebar tying tool is a tool for tying the rebar inside a reinforced concrete structure of construction work.
In the past, craftsmen called reinforcing steelworkers used a tool called a hacker to tie reinforcing steel bars by hand. Although firm tightening of the wire used for binding is required, appropriate force is necessary because the wire can be twisted if it is tightened too much. Therefore, the skill of the craftsmen greatly affected the quality and speed of the work. In addition, when tying thick rebar, workers were needed to support it.
With the advent of the rebar tying tool, the tying force can be adjusted, eliminating the need for skilled craftsmanship, and enabling one-person operations by supporting the rebar with one hand and tying it with the other. In addition, the improved work speed has led to a reduction in the burden on the worker's legs and back.
Set the wire in the rebar tying tool and adjust the tying force. If the wire twists or breaks during the work, adjust it weaker. The main body is applied perpendicularly to the rebar surface, and the tip called the arm is inserted into the intersection of the rebar. When the trigger switch is pulled, it binds automatically.
The binding section is positioned between the nodes of the rebar. The ties are secured in a manner that they cross at a 45° angle to the intersecting rebar, and the direction of the ties at adjacent intersections is opposite to each other, such as diagonally to the right or to the left.
If the arm is moved from the tying point during the tying operation, the wire may become entangled in the hooks or cause tying errors. Therefore, it is recommended to keep the arm pushed down until the tying operation is completed.
Each rebar-tying tool model has a specific range of rebar thicknesses and combinations that can be tied. The model is selected according to the rebar used at the construction site. Note that a model that supports thick rebar does not necessarily support all rebars of a smaller diameter. It is necessary to check the "minimum binding diameter" and "maximum binding diameter."
When the target rebar diameter is "thin rebar φ2.9 x φ6.0", a combination of main rebar φ2.9mm and reinforcement bars and shear reinforcement bars φ6.0mm can be used.
The binding capacity of intersections combining 3 or 4 reinforcing bars is indicated as follows:
In the case of a combination of 3 bars Maximum binding diameter D13 x D13 x D25
In the case of a combination of 4 bars Maximum bundling diameter D13 x D13 x D16 x D16
For reference, "D13" is the name of deformed steel bars. The range of sizes is from "D4" nominal diameter of 4.23mm, weight approx. 0.11 kg/m to "D51" nominal diameter of 50.8mm, weight approx. 15.9 kg/m.
In addition, the height of the wire's midriff and the length of the whiskers at the bottom of the wire differ depending on the model. This should also be taken into consideration when using the product at construction sites where the thickness is small.
