■ Eddy + - Inspection procedure
In the steelmaking process, a local hardened place (hard spot) may appear on the thick plate surface. This hard spot may cause problems during the posting and finished products, or may cause a failure of configuration parts. For this reason, the demand for hard spot tests is increasing in the thick plate manufacturing process. Existing hard spot tests include a "destructive" method (Vickers, Brinel, Rockwell) on the sample, or a non -destructive rebellious hardness test.
However, these methods are insufficient or inappropriate for large thick plates with a wide range of inspection sites. In order to solve this issue, Rohmann Gmbh (Rohmann Gmbh) has developed a new test method (EDDY +, patent application) that can easily detect the hardness near the thick plate surface. The specially developed sensor is partially magnetized on the thick plate surface with an interchangeable -flowing pulse, and at the same time, a change in the permeability rate is measured by a whirlpool current sensor (probe).
This method has succeeded in achieving a very large test speed up to 1 m/s at the same time, eliminating the effects of the disturbing signal detected as a large noise by the surface condition after rolling, for example, by the surface state after rolling.
■ ELOTEST HST trolley
The Elotest HST trolley was designed for the eddy +inspection method for the purpose of manual inspection such as large steel plates. Designed in a module method, it can be customized according to the customer's specifications. The inspection signal is displayed on the front panel of the corresponding whirlpool search device.
Furthermore, whether or not the electrification signal has exceeded the device status and the evaluation of the pre -set good / defect in advance can be clearly shown to the operator by the "signal" mounted on the HST. This means that the thick plate hard spot inspection machine HST is assumed to be used in the harsh work environment of the steelworks. The HST has a built -in lithium -ion battery, enabling free movement in the steelworks.
