■Adopts the industry's first casing to prevent infection
Special plastic allows for safe wiping with the most aggressive and strong disinfectants currently used in hospitals. It also covers screw holes and seams where bacteria can hide, even after wiping, to prevent the spread of germs.
■Flexible feedback modes, including vibration night mode
Choose from a variety of easy-to-manage feedback modes designed for every healthcare setting, from intensive care units to quiet night shifts to busy day shifts. Staff can confirm a successful scan using modes such as tactile/vibration, good decode LED, traditional beep with adjustable volume and frequency, and Zebra's Direct Decode Indicator that illuminates the barcode.
■Can scan barcodes in any condition
Combining a high-resolution megapixel sensor and Zebra's exclusive PRZM intelligent imaging technology, the DS8100-HC series is capable of handling high-density, small, curved, poorly printed, glossy, wrinkled, and faded images. Instantly capture even the most troublesome barcodes used in pharmacies, laboratories, and points of care, including distorted, dirty, or scratched barcodes, as well as electronic barcodes on dim screens.
■Safe LED sight that is easy on the eyes
Featuring highly visible and safe LED-based aiming, the DS8100-HC series can be used throughout hospitals, including the NICU (neonatal intensive care unit), where the use of laser aiming is undesirable. Green sights also reduce the likelihood of a PTSD (post-traumatic stress disorder) attack.
■Interchangeable power options
Two compatible power options, PowerPrecision+ batteries and PowerCap capacitors, both power your device. Power options for all models can be replaced in the field at any time, eliminating the need to purchase separate non-battery or battery-powered devices.
