■Application
The VRE304 is recommended for use as a reference for 14-, 16-, and 18-bit D/A converters that require an external precision reference. It is also ideal for calibrating the scale factor of high-resolution A/D converters. VRE304 has better performance than monolithic references.
■Description
The VRE304 is a low cost, high precision +4.5V reference. Available in an industry standard 8-pin surface mount package, the device is ideal for upgrading systems using lower performance references. The device provides an ultra-stable +4.5V output with an initial accuracy of ±0.90mV (0.02%) and a temperature coefficient of 2.0ppm/°C.
This increased accuracy is achieved through a unique patented multi-point laser correction technology. Significant improvements have also been made in other performance parameters such as initial accuracy, warm-up drift, line regulation, and long-term stability.
The VRE304 offers an external trim option to improve performance for users who want initial errors below 0.01%. Additionally, an external capacitor can be installed between the noise reduction terminal and the ground terminal to achieve ultra-low noise. In addition, a reference ground terminal is provided to eliminate errors due to contact resistance of the socket.
