■Application example
The VRE302 is recommended for use as a reference for 14-, 16-, and 18-bit D/A converters that require an external precision reference. It is also ideal for calibrating the scale factor of high resolution A/D converters. VRE302 has better performance than monolithic references.
■Explanation
The VRE302 is a low cost, high precision +2.5V reference. Available in an industry standard 8-pin DIP package, ideal for upgrading systems using lower performance references. The device provides an ultra-stable +2.5V output with an initial accuracy of ±0.60mV (0.024%) and a temperature coefficient of 2.2ppm/°C. This increased accuracy is achieved through a unique patented multi-point laser correction technology.
Significant improvements have also been made in other performance parameters such as initial accuracy, warm-up drift, line regulation, and long-term stability, making the VRE302 series the best available in a standard 8-pin DIP package. It is a highly accurate reference. To improve performance, the VRE302 features an external trim option for users who require an initial error of 0.024% or less. Additionally, a reference ground pin is provided to eliminate errors due to socket contact resistance.
