Model Description

■ 8606 type spherical beam forming The spherical beam forming offers two computational algorithms: Spherical Harmonics Angularly Represmed Presure (Sharp) and Filter and Sum (Fas, Patent Pending). Both can create a noise map in all directions in a simple one -time measurement, no matter what the acoustic environment in the measurement position. Unlike other methods that map only a part of the environment, spherical beam forming uses a spherical array. With a spherical array, noise mapping in the whole direction is performed, and at the same time, 12 cameras attached to the spherical surface take photos in the whole direction. When displaying the results, use those photos as the background of the acoustic map. In addition, spherical beam forming does not assume any assumptions about the characteristics of the acoustic environment, so it can be used in a reverberated environment in free sounds. For the above reasons, the spherical beam forming is suitable for creating an overview map in a certain attenuation space, such as inside a car or aircraft. ■ Measurement and calculation The measurement is performed using a micro hone with a storm on the sphere. The arrangement of microphone on the spherical surface is numerically optimized to maximize the effective dynamic range of the acoustic map. Usually, spherical arrays are installed at typical impact rating points (for example, driver's seats of cars). The Sharp algorithm disassembles the observed sound field into a spherical harmony component, and is evaluated from each direction by re -linking those spherical harmony functions. The FAS algorithm applies a FIR filter optimized by incident angle to the output from each microphone, reducing the siderobe. And create a sound map by adding results by angle. ■ performance The angle resolution of Sharp and FAS algorithms used in spherical beam forming is almost the same, but the FAS can be expected to improve to some extent with MSL. Low -frequency boost (LFB) is especially useful for 50 channel spherical arrays.
