Therefore, in order to accurately grasp the remaining battery level and prevent important data from being lost, we have developed a smart battery with a built-in gas gauge IC that calculates, displays, and communicates the amount of charge in the battery pack, system software, and a smart battery charger. Information is exchanged via SMBus (a 2-wire serial bus interface consisting of a clock signal line and a data signal line). The system that performs battery management such as charging, remaining power measurement, and protection is called "SBS".
