By moving the receiving antenna within the quiet zone, the amplitude of the standing wave is measured and the amount of reflection is determined. At this time, by using a directional antenna for transmitting and receiving, it is possible to know the amount of reflection from each wall and the direction of arrival. Measurements of standing waves are performed at fixed angles in the azimuth and elevation directions, and the worst value obtained is taken as the anechoic characteristic.
