About This Product
■Micropower SL353 series
Omnipolar hole effect SOT-23. Typical ±60G, Typical 1.8μA High Duty Cycle (SL353HT), Low Duty Cycle (SL353LT)
■Product overview
The SL353 series sensor IC (integrated circuit) is a small, versatile, digital Hall effect device that operates with the magnetic field of a permanent magnet or electromagnet. This series of high sensitivity devices is designed to suit a wide variety of low power applications.
Since the SL353 series responds to both N and S polarities, there is no need to specify the magnet polarity, simplifying installation and reducing system costs.
These low-power sensing devices use BiCMOS (Bipolar Complementary Metal Oxide Semiconductor) technology and timing circuits that turn on for short periods of time. 1: Off for the rest of the period (duty cycle). 1: Significantly reduces average current consumption.
Both products operate with a supply voltage as low as 2.2 V, making them energy efficient. Push-pull outputs do not require pull-up resistors, allowing operation at extremely low current levels, reducing cost and current consumption.
The SL353 series has a standard operating point of ±60 Gauss at 25 °C [77 °F].
The sensor is available in a subminiature SOT-23 surface mount package on tape and reel (3,000 units/reel) compatible with automation pick and place.
■SL353 series has two duty cycle configurations to meet various application needs.
-SL353HT: High duty cycle (13% typical) for applications requiring fast switching and lower current (0.33 mA typical) than standard Hall effect sensor ICs.
SL353LT: Ultra-low duty cycle (0.013% typical) requires extremely low current drain (1.8 µA typical) and can be used in applications that do not require fast switching to extend battery life.
