The 2SS52M series digital magnetoresistive sensors are omnipolar, solid-state sensors with a built-in magnetoresistive bridge integrated on silicon and encapsulated in a plastic package. The integrated circuit also includes a bandgap regulator and digital output, making it compatible with very low magnetic fields.
These sensor ICs operate with magnetic north or south poles mounted in parallel to the sensor IC. No need to identify polarity, which simplifies installation in unipolar applications and doubles resolution in rotating magnet applications.
These small, highly sensitive omnipolar devices are popular building blocks for sensing flow meters, motor RPM, and cylinder positioning.
