About This Product
・ Reasons for adopting this technology
When using a handheld barcode scanner, the success rate of the scan is determined by the speed and accuracy of the movement. In particular, it is a problem under environmental conditions where the shaking of the barcodes and barcodes is inevitable.
The capture of the barcode image affects the decoding efficiency of the barcode and also affects the barcode recognition during image processing.
Therefore, the distortion of the barcode image is the main cause of reading failure.
・ Overview of this technology
The 2D scanner has two types of image shutters, a rolling shutter and a global shutter.
〇 The rolling shutter image is captured in a progressive motion (order). This means that all the images are exposed one by one in a sweep motion.
With this approach, you cannot avoid the distortion of the image when the 2D scanner is moving at a high speed.
The result of the rolling shutter is easily affected when the move moves suddenly.
As shown below, the barcode image is distorted and difficult to read.
〇 Global shutter image scan is much better than a rolling shutter.
The main difference is that the sensor captures the barcode image once.
The barcode image does not distort the jitter of the hand.
Therefore, the successful barcode reading rate is certainly higher than the Rollyn Ghatter.
I strongly recommend this because global shutter technology is the best way to increase the reading speed in the scan environment you have.
·test results
Using the UNTEC PA700 rolling shutter and the UNTEC PA720 global shutter indicates that the reading speed is clearly improved.
From this scan experiment, we compared these two performances with the PA700 and PA720 while scanning the same barcode for 2 minutes on the vibration stand.
The result shows that the read precision of the PA720 with global shutters, as shown in the table below, is 12 % higher than the PA700.
