■Universal type expansion joint
The universal type is designed to absorb expansion and contraction in the pipeline's axial direction, as well as large amounts of displacement in the direction perpendicular to the axis. The amount of expansion and contraction in the axial direction is determined by the number of threads on the bellows, and the amount of displacement in the direction perpendicular to the axis is determined by the combination of the angular displacement of the two bellows and the length of the intermediate pipe. The tie rod is designed to smooth the movement of the intermediate pipe and ensure that the two bellows work evenly.
■Applications of universal expansion joint TM type
Universal expansion joints are particularly popular for absorbing lateral deflection, but they can also accommodate axial expansion and contraction in addition to lateral deflection. The most common use is to connect to a 90° pipe offset.
