About This Product

■Product overview The AE sensor detects the AE signal that occurs at the moment tool breakage (chipping) occurs during cutting. The AE sensor part is a wireless system on the rotation side and reception side, and the sensor part on the rotation side is attached to the main rotation axis of the tool (center of the spindle axis). ■Tool damage detection device using AE sensor AE is an acronym for Acoustic Emission, and its physical meaning is the acoustic radiation energy released as a solid object (such as a tool) deforms or breaks. The frequency is widely distributed from several kHz to several MHz. This device performs high frequency analysis and waveform processing of 350kHz or higher to generate the detection signal. It is highly reliable and is not affected by machine vibration. ■Features ・Reliably detects the point at which tool damage such as chipping or cracking occurs during turning/cutting processes, heading/rolling processes. - Detects chippings as small as 1μ with high accuracy. (Depends on processing conditions.) -Special processing is performed on the AE signal, so it is not affected by external noise or vibration. - Settings can be made with a single volume control on the front panel, making operation easy. - Can be easily installed on existing machines. ・Productivity will not decrease by installing this device. - Equipped with sensor cord disconnection detection function. ・This device can be used for purposes other than tool chipping detection. ■Applications Turret type NC lathe: When installing sensors for the above applications, retrofitting is not possible.
