Vibration measurement plays an important role in the performance of high-precision mechanical components such as MEMS and microelectromachines. A typical vibrometer uses a galvo mirror to scan a laser beam of wavelengths in the visible range through a microscope objective. Although this method provides high lateral resolution, the field of view of the microscope objective is proportional to the reciprocal of the resolution, which limits the measurement area (field of view).
In applications such as MEMS, it is required to measure objects several millimeters in size at once with high resolution, and it is also required to measure objects that are packaged. SmarAct has developed the PICOSCALE Vibrometer, a laser vibration meter that uses the PICOSCALE laser displacement meter to measure the dynamic characteristics of various measurement objects.
