■Scribe and lamination processing
The cut and laminate soft coating structure is a commonly used structure in bandpass filters and edge filters. A single substrate plate is coated with various bandpass filters.
These substrate plates are then cut to the specified dimensions to remove the surrounding film except for the active film area required for the optical filter. The plates, cut to the specified dimensions, are then laminated with moisture-resistant epoxy.
A glass epoxy glass seal is formed in the scribe area and the filter is cut using a diamond cutting tool to form the best possible protective film against moisture penetration. An additional moisture barrier layer can be applied to the cut filter if necessary to extend its life.
