■Multilayer V coating
One hypotenuse of the prism is coated with a multilayer dielectric polarizing beam splitter coating optimized for wavelengths of 405, 532, 1,064, or 1,550 nm.
■Optical contacts with high damage threshold
These high power cube beam splitters are formed by optically contacting two right angle prisms. One of the prisms has a partially reflective dielectric coating on its hypotenuse. Optical contacting is a difficult procedure and only works if the two mating surfaces are very flat and very clean. Due to the extra effort involved in optical contact, this process is only used for higher power and more demanding applications.
■High polarization extinction ratio
The unpolarized beam is split into two orthogonally linearly polarized components. P-polarized light is transmitted and S-polarized light is reflected, but absorption of both is negligible. Extinction ratio is better than 200:1. This unique component offers all the benefits of a thin film plate polarizer in a standard cube configuration.
