About This Product
Newport's ultrafast laser harmonic beam splitter acts as a dichroic filter, separating the fundamental wavelength of 800 nm from the second harmonic: 400 nm. Beamsplitters are precision-ground, select-grade fused silica and coated with a hard refractory multilayer for high damage resistance and minimal pulse dispersion.

■High damage threshold
High Beam Ti: Sapphire lasers can be safely used with this beam splitter. A durable multi-layer coating is used on both the front beam-splitting surface and the AR-coated back. This results in typical damage thresholds of 5 MW/cm2 at 1,064nm for CW, 0.1-100nsec, and 5J/cm2 for 10Hz pulses. Typical damage thresholds for wavelengths below 532nm are 1MW/cm2 for CW and 1J/cm2 for pulsed.
■3mm thick synthetic quartz substrate
Constructed from durable synthetic quartz, the thin, mm-thick substrate is coated on the front with an ultra-fast optimized beam splitter coating and on the back with an AR coating. This dichroic filter easily meets the needs of ultrafast beam harmonic separation.
■Reflectance outside the design wavelength
Reflection and transmission at wavelengths other than those specified are uncontrolled and may differ significantly from the curves shown. We do not recommend using beamsplitters outside of the design wavelength.
