Newport's calibrated integrating sphere detectors consist of 819C and 819D series detectors and integrating spheres for divergent and collimated light measurements, and are available in Si and InGaAs detector types. The light flux detected using an integrating sphere is only a small portion of the incident light flux.
The attenuation caused by the multiple reflections of light before it reaches the detector makes an integrating sphere an ideal tool for measuring the power of high-power lasers. Calibrated integrating sphere systems are available in 2", 3.3", and 5.3" sizes.
The integrating sphere model with Si detector is suitable for measurements in the wavelength range of 400 to 1,100 nm. On the other hand, models with high-performance InGaAs detectors are suitable for the 800 to 1,650 nm range.
All integrating spheres have an SMA fiber optic connector on the north pole as a standard feature to sample a small amount of light for wavelength measurements or any additional analysis so as not to affect the overall system calibration. I will make it possible. The standard input port size for the 819D series is 0.25 inch.
Please note that if you change any components from the original calibrated configuration, the system calibration is no longer valid. When measuring very high-power light, increasing the temperature of the integrating sphere system can affect measurement accuracy.
In that case, it is necessary to adjust the temperature of the integrating sphere. Newport recommends calibrating your system along with your optical power meter annually.
