TVS, MOV, and ESD products have precise voltage clamping performance that limits voltages to acceptable levels and allows large currents to flow to ground to prevent circuit damage.
GDT, SPG, and TSS products act as circuit switches that, when turned on, conduct abnormal currents to ground.
