EZ-PD™PMG1 (Power Delivery Microcontroller Gen 1) is the industry's first high-voltage microcontroller (MCU) family with USB-C Power Delivery (PD). These chips feature an Arm® cortex®-M0/M0+ CPU and a USB-C PD controller with integrated analog and digital peripherals. Targets any embedded system that draws/consumes power from a high-voltage USB-C PD port and utilizes a microcontroller to provide additional control functionality.
The EZ-PD™ PMG1 family features a market-proven USB-PD stack to ensure specification compliance and interoperability. It is the only high-voltage programmable USB power delivery solution on the market today that integrates Arm® Cortex®-M0/M0+ (up to 256KB Flash and 32KB RAM), USB full-speed devices, and analog and digital peripherals. The SDK supported by ModusToolbox™ provides customers with a unified firmware view, allowing seamless migration between all EZ-PD™ PMG1 devices.
The EZ-PD™ PMG1 addresses the need for in-depth knowledge of USB-C that engineers face when implementing USB-C into applications, the need for low-cost and flexible MCUs, the need for on-chip secure protection, and the high-voltage USB It is a one-chip integrated solution that solves these design problems, such as large BOM when going to -C solution. In the future, USB-C will become the most common DC power source for consumer electronics, replacing all incompatible barrels and custom connectors with one common connector that is truly universal and accepted worldwide.
