■Microbubbles The threatening power of minute bubbles
Extremely small bubbles called microbubbles, which are only 1/1,000 mm in diameter, are attracting a lot of attention for their potential applications in water purification and cancer diagnosis and treatment. Normally, the size of bubbles formed in water is a few millimeters in diameter, but microbubbles are less than 1/1,000 of that size. Because it is extremely small and has a negative potential, it has the property of adsorbing minute dust and making it float to the surface of the water. It is already being used to clean oysters and semiconductors, and pet shops are also beginning to use it to clean pets.
