About This Product

■Summary The VIS 413 Viscometer is designed for researchers who require data on the melt viscosity of a wide variety of materials at the highest temperatures. Advances in core measurement technology used for rotational speed control and torque measurement have made it possible to measure viscosity with greater precision. Utilizing TA Instruments' proprietary technology, the viscometer sensor allows for higher accuracy measurements over a wider viscosity range. A powerful, easy-to-use, and highly safe reaction atmosphere control system expands the range of applications for high-temperature viscometers, including the measurement of air-sensitive materials. This allows for the reproduction of harsh environmental conditions such as vacuum, inert, and reactive atmospheres. Utilizing TA Instrument's extensive experience in developing and manufacturing high-temperature furnaces, we have developed a new furnace for viscometers. This maximizes the temperature range of the VIS413 and provides excellent temperature stability and uniformity. Furnace's quality and unique performance allows it to accurately measure melt viscosity over the widest temperature range. . A high-performance water cooling system significantly reduces the cooling time of the furnace and sensor, resulting in excellent viscosity measurement stability and safe operation. By minimizing idle time, you can double your equipment's productivity and improve your research output. The viscometer sensor's spring-loaded sample crucible holder allows for easy and safe sample loading. The proven design and small footprint allow the viscometer to be installed and operated inside the glovebox, ensuring that even oxygen- and moisture-sensitive samples can be processed. ■Technology The heart of the VIS413 sensor is a unique frictionless and wear-free EC motor. In combination with a digital optical encoder, rotational speed measurement and control is achieved with the highest precision. High-precision sealed ball bearings provide optimal rotor alignment with minimal reproducible friction. The main advantage compared to air bearings is the ability to operate in a vacuum. This is a tremendous improvement in high temperature viscosity measurements in controlled atmospheres. Gas injection accessories create a purge gas flow to protect EC motors, optical encoders, and ball bearings. This feature allows you to perform viscosity measurements on volatile samples that may contaminate the viscometer's sensor.
