The Elcometer 480 is available in entry-level model B (60° measurement angle only) and multifunctional model T (single, dual, and triple angle models).
・Single: 60°
・Dual: 20° and 60°
・Triple: 20°, 60°, and 85°
■Memory and batch function
The built-in memory can store up to 2,500 batches of data with alphanumeric names along with measurement date and time for up to 40,000 points. You can also transfer readings via USB or Bluetooth®* to your PC, iPhone or AndroidTM mobile device, and easily generate inspection reports using ElcoMaster® software.
■Switching display mode
The color LCD screen is scratch and solvent resistant. The following information is displayed:
・Glossiness, reflectance (%), haze
・Statistics
・Reading value, difference from standard value, pass/fail judgment
・Trend graph
・Scan bar (horizontal bar)
■Measurement mode: Standard, automatic measurement, scan
Samples and conditions differ each time they are tested. The Elcometer 480 therefore has three measurement modes:
・Standard: Place the gloss meter where you want to measure and press the measurement button.
・Automatic measurement: Slide the gloss meter over the test surface. The gloss level of three angles is automatically read at the specified speed (10~180 times/min). All readings are stored in memory.
・Scan: Slide the gloss meter over the test surface. The glossiness of three angles is read at a rate of 10 times/second. When you stop scanning, the average, maximum and minimum readings are displayed and saved. This mode is useful for examining surface uniformity.
