The detector is integrated with a pre-wired junction box and can be installed using conduit or cable and gland depending on individual site standards.
Two basic configurations are available. The combustible gas detector has a mV bridge output for use with dedicated gas control systems (such as Unipoint) and is ATEX compliant for use in explosive atmospheres. Toxic gas and oxygen detectors are designed for use in non-explosive atmospheres.
They use a 4-20mA 2-wire loop power supply and can be used with a PLC or dedicated gas control system.
Signalpoint toxic gas and oxygen detectors have local LED indicators to indicate their status: periodic green blinks indicate normal, yellow blinks indicate warning, and red blinks indicate alarm. A front-end sensor design is used to enable moment-critical hazard detection, and provides fast response even in "sticky" gases.
It is also designed for easy installation. The junction box can be fixed to walls and ceilings using invisible mounting hardware. The junction box lid is hinged, allowing two-handed connection of the power distribution through the M20 cable/conduit entry.
Maintenance is minimal and simple work. When used with Honeywell Analytics' industrial controllers, all required user adjustments are typically performed from the controller. Once the operating life has passed, replace the sensor and reconfigure the controller. Sensor replacement kits are available to replace electrochemical type sensors used in toxic gas and oxygen detectors. The combustible gas detector sensor simply installs a new lid that is integrated with the sensing element.
