The CSN series of closed-loop current sensors is based on the principles of magnetoresistive or Hall effect and the zero position method or zero field flux method (feedback system). The magnetic flux in the sensor core is always controlled to zero.
The amount of current required to balance zero flux is the primary current flowing through the conductor multiplied by the ratio of the primary winding to the secondary winding.
This closed-loop current gives an image of the primary current coming out of the device and dropping by the number of secondary turns at any given time. This current is represented by a voltage across a resistor.
