MICRO SWITCH VPX switches are specifically designed for outdoor use in hazardous environments. The switch enclosure is constructed to withstand the pressure of an internal explosion. The exploded gas is cooled by the flame path to a temperature below the minimum safe operating temperature of the surrounding gas.
VPX series versions equipped with inductive proximity switches have an intrinsically safe (IS) rating. No matter where the equipment or machinery is designed, built, or installed, VPX Series products serve institutions around the world.
VPX series switches come standard with a rugged die-cast aluminum housing. The product housing is weather sealed for outdoor applications and complies with NEMA 4X requirements for anti-corrosion protection as well as various NEMA enclosure standards.
The product's O-ring seal makes the enclosure watertight but outside of the required flame path, maintaining explosion protection requirements. VPX series switches are available in multiple colors and angles that are visible from all directions. All basic switches have clockwise and counterclockwise operation unless specially ordered.
