■Summary
Most digital oscilloscopes are designed for viewing high-speed digital signals. New technologies have only been used to increase sampling rates and bandwidth. However, with the PicoScope 4262, we focused on increasing resolution, improving dynamic range, and reducing noise and distortion, which are important for measuring analog signals.
The result is an oscilloscope/FFT analyzer with a level of performance that exceeds most audio analyzers, but with 5MHz bandwidth, suitable for a wide range of precision measurement tasks, not just vibration and ultrasound signals.
Many applications, such as vibration analysis, require long-term capture at high sampling rates, which requires large amounts of capture memory. The PicoScope 4262 has 16 million samples of buffer memory, allowing you to capture at 10MS/s with timebases down to 100ms/div. If you need a longer time, you can sample directly to PC memory in USB streaming mode.
■Advanced display
PicoScope software allocates almost all of the display area to the waveform. This allows you to view the maximum amount of data at once. The viewing area is much larger and has higher resolution than traditional benchtop scopes. With the large viewing area available, you can also create customizable split-screen displays to display multiple channels or different views of the same signal simultaneously.
The software can also display multiple oscilloscope and spectrum analyzer traces simultaneously, as shown in the example. Additionally, each displayed waveform operates with individual zoom, pan, and filter settings for ultimate flexibility. PicoScope software can be controlled with a mouse, touchscreen, or keyboard shortcuts.
