■Calibration using an external standard thermometer
WIKA's standard thermometers are especially suitable for use in calibration laboratories. Easy comparative calibration in bath, tube furnace and dry well calibrator. The use of an external reference thermometer is recommended. Particularly suitable for calibrating low temperature sensors. This considerably reduces errors due to radial and axial temperature distribution within the temperature control unit.
During calibration, the test item and reference thermometer are brought to the same temperature in a temperature control unit. As soon as a stable temperature is reached, the test item is read or its output signal is measured (resistance, thermal voltage, standard signal) and compared with a reference thermometer. By using this comparison method, in addition to taking into account the temperature control unit's indicators, the measurement uncertainty is greatly reduced.
