Overview

Graphene Flagship is an EU-based scientific research initiative launched in 2003 and coordinated by the Chalmers University of Technology in Gothenburg, Sweden. The project aims to advance graphene commercialization and mass adoption, operating on a €1 billion budget with over 150 partner organizations in industry and academia. The initiative covers various areas of graphene research and development, including graphene-based supercapacitors, li-ion batteries, wearable health monitors, COVID biosensors and 5G interconnects. Graphene Flagship is the largest graphene initiative organized by the European Union's Future and Emerging Technologies program, which it supervises in partnership with the Human Brain Project and Quantum Technologies Flagship.
